Career

Ruth Arthasya Angelica (“Ruth”) is an Associate at A&CO Law Office, with a practice focusing on Intellectual Property, Corporate and Commercial matters, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT). She regularly advises both domestic and multinational clients on legal issues at the intersection of regulation, technology, and business development.

Ruth graduated Cum Laude from the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University in 2021 and was recognized as the 2nd Most Outstanding Student, reflecting her strong academic foundation and analytical capabilities. Prior to joining A&CO, she gained experience at several prominent law firms with internationally oriented practices, where she was involved in intellectual property, corporate, and commercial transactions.

At A&CO, Ruth is actively involved in assisting clients on general corporate advisory work, foreign investment structuring, and regulatory matters in the media and telecommunications sector. She has also participated in legal due diligence exercises for mergers and acquisitions, particularly within the telecommunications and technology-driven industries.

In the intellectual property field, Ruth handles a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including trademark and copyright filings, prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic legal advisory for clients operating across both local and international jurisdictions.

Complementing her legal practice, Ruth is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in New Ventures & Innovation, reflecting her strong interest in the integration of law, innovation, and business strategy. This academic focus equips her with a forward-looking perspective on how legal frameworks support new business creation, innovation-driven enterprises, and scalable business models. Through this lens, Ruth approaches legal advisory not merely from a compliance standpoint, but as a strategic tool to support growth, efficiency, and sustainable value creation for clients—particularly startups, technology companies, and innovation-focused businesses.

Ruth passed the Indonesian Bar Examination administered by the Indonesian Advocates Association (AAI) and was admitted as a licensed Indonesian advocate in 2024.

In recognition of her emerging leadership and professional impact, Ruth was named one of Hukumonline NexGen Lawyers 2025, under the theme “Pioneering Leadership in the Evolving Legal Landscape.” This recognition underscores her potential as a next-generation lawyer who combines legal expertise with innovation-oriented thinking and commercial awareness.
