Career

Ardhiyasa Suratman (“Dias”) is the Founder and Managing Partner of A&CO Law Office, a Jakarta-based Indonesian law firm with a strong focus on intellectual property disputes, enforcement, and brand protection, complemented by strategic capabilities in commercial disputes, debt recovery, and insolvency, including Suspension of Debt Payment (PKPU) and bankruptcy proceedings.

Dias has been a licensed Indonesian advocate (PERADI) since 2008 and a licensed Intellectual Property Consultant since 2015. He is also licensed as a PKPU Receiver and Bankruptcy Trustee. These credentials enable him to advise clients on comprehensive, end-to-end legal strategies—ranging from investigation, enforcement, and negotiation through to dispute resolution, litigation, and execution.

With extensive experience gained from years of practice at several prominent Indonesian intellectual property and corporate law firms, Dias is widely recognized for delivering commercially driven legal solutions, particularly in high-stakes matters where legal exposure must be carefully aligned with clients’ business objectives, operational realities, and reputational considerations.

Dias has substantial experience in software licensing enforcement in Indonesia and has handled numerous matters involving the unauthorized use of licensed software. His work in this area includes investigation coordination, evidence management, enforcement planning, and dispute strategy. He is frequently instructed by leading U.S.-based software developers to enforce licensing rights and address infringement issues in the Indonesian market.

In addition, Dias has a strong track record in handling major PKPU and bankruptcy matters, particularly from the creditor’s perspective, including contentious negotiations in complex restructuring environments. He is also regularly retained by international trade credit insurance companies and global leasing companies to conduct debt recovery work, including litigation, execution, and asset enforcement—requiring a combination of legal precision, recovery planning, and on-the-ground coordination.

In recognition of his expertise in intellectual property dispute resolution, Dias received a scholarship in 2015 from the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) to attend the JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Dispute Resolution Lawyers in Tokyo, Japan. This experience further strengthened his international perspective on IP enforcement, dispute resolution mechanisms, and comparative best practices.

Beyond his legal qualifications, Dias is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management, which significantly enhances his ability to lead A&CO with a structured, professional, and system-driven management approach. This background enables him to understand clients not merely from a legal standpoint, but as business operators focused on profitability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

By integrating legal expertise with strategic management principles, Dias aligns legal risk management with business strategy—helping clients structure decisions, manage disputes, and resolve conflicts in ways that enhance operational efficiency, protect enterprise value, and support sustainable growth. This ability to synchronize law and strategic management is a key differentiator of A&CO’s advisory approach.

Clients and international partners value Dias for his hands-on, partner-led involvement, responsiveness, and ability to deliver clear, outcome-oriented advice that is not only legally robust, but also commercially practical and strategically informed.
