Career

Abraham Devrian (“Abraham”) is a Partner at A&CO Law Office and plays a key role in the firm’s corporate, employment, dispute resolution, and insolvency (PKPU and bankruptcy) practices. He is actively involved in advising both local and foreign clients on a wide spectrum of legal matters in Indonesia, ranging from day-to-day corporate and employment advisory work to complex disputes and restructuring situations.

Abraham was admitted to practice law in Indonesia in 2013 and is also a licensed PKPU Receiver and Bankruptcy Trustee, appointed by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. This dual qualification equips him with strong technical and practical expertise in restructuring processes, creditor-side recovery strategies, and insolvency proceedings, particularly in financially distressed environments.

At A&CO, Abraham has extensive experience in handling employment and labour matters, especially for foreign-owned companies and multinational clients. His work includes advising on employment compliance, termination and redundancy planning, internal employment disputes, and labour-related risk management. He is well-versed in helping clients navigate Indonesia’s regulatory framework while minimizing legal exposure and maintaining operational continuity.

In addition to his employment practice, Abraham regularly provides day-to-day corporate legal advisory services to A&CO’s clients—particularly foreign companies operating in Indonesia. His scope of work covers commercial transactions, contractual arrangements, and ongoing operational legal issues. He works closely with senior management and in-house counsel to ensure that legal advice is not only compliant, but also commercially sound and aligned with clients’ broader business objectives.

Complementing his legal practice, Abraham is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, reflecting his strong interest in the intersection between law and economics in the business environment. This academic background enables him to assess legal issues through an economic lens, recognizing that legal decisions inevitably carry financial, operational, and market consequences.

By integrating legal analysis with economic reasoning, Abraham is able to advise clients on how legal strategies can support efficiency, cost control, and sustainable business outcomes—particularly in matters involving employment restructuring, financial distress, and commercial decision-making. This law-and-economics perspective allows him to help clients make informed legal decisions that are responsive to prevailing economic conditions and business realities

Clients value Abraham for his commercial awareness, analytical approach, and responsiveness, as well as his ability to translate Indonesian legal and economic considerations into clear, practical, and actionable advice. These qualities make him a trusted adviser for ongoing corporate and employment mandates, as well as complex dispute resolution and restructuring engagements.
